CME Exchange to Roll Out XRP Futures in May as Institutional Crypto Adoption Grows
CME Group has announced the launch of cash-settled XRP futures contracts next month, pending regulatory approval. The derivatives exchange will offer two contract sizes—2,500 XRP and 50,000 XRP—settled against its daily XRP-Dollar Reference Rate. This follows CME’s March introduction of Solana futures and expands its existing suite of Bitcoin and Ethereum derivatives.
The move reflects increasing institutional acceptance of digital assets amid a more favorable U.S. regulatory environment. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse described the development as "incredibly important" for XRP’s maturation as an asset class. market analysts anticipate CME’s entry will boost liquidity and potentially reduce volatility in the XRP market.
